Sergio Stark

Originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil, Sérgio Stark began his career as a woodworker in Rio de Janeiro. His passion for design emerged while working on the fabrication and assembly of SR2 wooden houses alongside renowned architect Sergio Rodrigues.

In 1994, he founded Marcenaria Stark, a bespoke carpentry workshop that produced custom joinery and furniture for some of Brazil’s most prestigious stores. By 2015, Stark launched Stark Studio, dedicating himself exclusively to authored design with a strong influence from Brazilian modernism.

His work has been recognized with awards and exhibitions such as the Brasil Design Award, Museu da Casa Brasileira, 100% Minas, and two iF Design Awards—one of the most prestigious design prizes in the world.
